Master in Educational Sciences

The Master's degree in Educational Sciences conveys pedagogical, psychological and methodological basics as well as skills for planning, analysis, monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning processes in the extracurricular education sector. It focuses on a broadly based and interdisciplinary development of competences and profiles for various fields of application and activities in extracurricular educational work, including (further) education institutions, organisations, associations and companies, and in scientific educational research.

Concrete fields of activity for which the Master programme prepares students are, for example, education management/controlling, programme and offer development, operational personnel and organisational development as well as (educational) counselling.

The Master's programme consists of teaching elements from the disciplines of vocational education and training, adult education/further education, educational science and psychology. The educational sciences subject areas are described, analysed and discursively reflected from the various disciplinary perspectives. The practical approaches and also the scientific orientations of the Master's programme are thus interdisciplinary.

At the IfBE, modules are offered in the disciplines of vocational education and training (BW PM 3 + specialisation in vocational and company education) and adult education/continuing education (BW PM 4 and BW PM 5 + specialisation in adult education/continuing education).
